Spiral Spring-Sport

^ Wheels must be in straight-ahead position when removing steering wheel and spiral spring. After removal, the spiral spring must not be rotated.

^ Remove airbag

^ Disconnect voltage supply connector

Spiral Spring - Sport Steering Wheel:

- Loosen Torx (3) screws (1), T20 - 44 in.lb. (5 N-m)

- Remove airbag and disconnect wire at connector

- Loosen hex bolts (5) 44 in.lb. (5 N-m)

- Remove steering wheel, disconnect spiral spring connector (7)

- Remove 4 torx screws holding the spiral spring (8) T20 - 20 in.lb. (2.3 N-m)

- Remove spiral spring from the back

Note:
Wheels must be in straight-ahead position when removing steering wheel and spiral spring. After removal, the spiral spring must not be rotated.

Airbag Sport Steering Wheel, aftermarket installation:

1995 series production vehicles can be converted to the airbag sport steering wheel. The airbag sport steering wheel, airbag, and plate must be ordered. The sticker with the expiration date must be removed from the new airbag and placed on the lower driver side B pillar.
