Condition

Vacuum leak caused by vacuum supply hose for A/C recirculation door and differential lock vacuum hose (Quattro vehicles) rubbing on mechanical EGR valve. Symptoms can include:

^ Inoperative A/C recirculation door.
^ Inoperative differential lock on (Quattro vehicles).

Service

1. Locate and remove black with yellow stripe vacuum hose (passes near mechanical EGR valve at left rear of engine).

2. Install 13 in. (approximately 330 mm) of hose (3.5 mm x 2 mm). Part No.: N 020 353 5





3. Route new hose away from EGR Valve and install tie-wrap at location marked (see illustration).
