DTC's P0401/16785 and P0402/16786

Notes:
^ With DTCs P0401/16785 and P0402/16786, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is only switched ON after two drives, one after another (with a preceding cold start) and either recurring malfunction.

^ For DTC P0401/16785 (EGR valve closed) to set, the following conditions must be met: Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) over 60°C (140°F), closed throttle position switch open, throttle valve angle less than 42.5°, vehicle speed between 43-65 mph (70-105 km/h), EGR duty cycle greater than 50%, engine speed between 1500-3000 RPM and engine load between 16-60%.
If all of these conditions are met and the EGR temperature signal is less than 65°C (149°F) after 45 seconds, DTC P0401/16785 is set.

^ DTC P0402/16786 (EGR valve open) is set when the difference between the EGR temperature measured at cold start with ECT between -15° and +30°C (5° and 86°F) and the EGR temperature measured with ECT at 35°C (95°F), is greater than 60°C (140°F).
