Flanged Shaft

NOTE:
^ This operation should be carried out only if the flanged shaft differential housing or differential bevel gears are replaced.
^ The purpose of the adjustment is to achieve the correct play of 0.2-0.5 mm (0.008-0.020 inch) between the flanged shaft and the differential housing. This ensures smooth running of the parts and exact gearshift operations.

DETERMINING SHIM -u
- Install flanged shaft with existing shims and tighten bolts.





- Measure play (arrow) between flanged shaft and differential housing.
Play should be 0.2-0.5 mm (0.008-0.020 inch).
- If there is too little play:
Install an appropriately thicker shim.
- If there is too much play:
Install an appropriately thinner shim.
- Shims are available in the following sizes:
Thickness:
0.3 mm
0.6 mm
0.9 mm
