DISPLAY GROUP 029Three Way Catalytic Converter Diagnostic, Bank 1
DISPLAY GROUP 030
Three Way Catalytic Converter Diagnostic, Bank 2
NOTES:
^ If the value of thee Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) diagnostic (banks 1 and 2) in display group 023, display field 1 is not set to "0" during resetting of the "Readiness code" and/or a malfunction is stored in the DTC memory that relates to the TWC, use display groups 029, 030 and 038 to perform a selective diagnostic.
^ After each engine start-up, if the diagnostic conditions are met (see display group 038), the ECM checks the rate of TWC deterioration via the front and rear Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).
^ display fields 1 and 2 display the largest and smallest rate of deterioration from all the diagnostics that have been performed since the last erasure of the DTC memory if during one of the subsequent diagnostic tests, a larger or smaller deterioration rate is recognized, the existing value is superceded and the new value is displayed.
^ The "number of Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) diagnostic tests" (display field 3) is increased by 1 each time a diagnostic test is performed, whether the diagnostic is recognized as OK or not OK. If the rate of deterioration during the first diagnostic test is recognized as OK, the "number of Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) diagnostic tests" is increased by "1" and the diagnostic test is ended. If the limit value of 45% is exceeded, the diagnostic test is recognized as not OK and the malfunction "TWC efficiency below threshold (Bx)" is stored in the DTC memory The rate of deterioration is now continuously checked, while the "number of Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) diagnostic tests" is increased with each additional diagnostic test.
^ Display field 4 displays the current rate of deterioration recognized during the last diagnostic test.
^ The display values are reset only by erasing the DTC memory Selected observation periods can be defined by resetting the display values.
