DISPLAY GROUP 031Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor Wheel Learning Value
NOTES:
^ An Engine Speed (RPM) sensor wheel is required to monitor and record combustion misfiring. The flywheel (starter ring gear) is used as the sensor wheel. After each engine start-up, the flywheel (starter ring gear) is checked for mechanical damage (for example, specified tolerances/clearances must not be exceeded).
^ Small imperfections in the starter ring gear (for example, tooth faces worn) are compensated by learning values. If greater damage is recognized, the malfunction "Engine Speed sensor missing tooth" is stored in the DTC memory.
^ The RPM sensor wheel is tested during a deceleration fuel shut-off at 2200-4000 RPM. The length of the deceleration fuel shut-off must be approx. 10 seconds for the test to occur:
