Note:
In as-delivered condition, replacement control modules are not coded

If the control module is not coded, the airbag warning lamp illuminates continuously

When self-diagnosis is initiated, if an incorrect coding for the current system variation appears on the display of Scan Tool VAG 1551 or the control module is replaced, carry out coding of the control module as follows:

^ Connect Scan Tool VAG 1551
^ Select rapid data transfer

Display shows:
Rapid data transfer Q
Input address word XX

^ Input address word 15 for airbag
^ Enter input with Q key

^ For airbag III, display shows:
^ Move program forward with right arrow button
