Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Connect a suitable Scan tool using correct cable to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
Follow Scan tool manufactures recommended procedures to access DTCs. DTCs must be accessed prior to clearing codes, the ECU will not allow erasure of stored DTCs until all codes have been read.
Follow Scan tool manufactures recommended procedures to clear ECU memory.
