OUTPUT DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE
(VAG 1551 function 03)

The following components are checked via the output diagnostic test mode:

Solenoid Valve 1 - N88
Solenoid Valve 2 - N89
Solenoid Valve 3 - N90
Solenoid Valve 4 - N91
Cruise Control Power Supply Relay
Kick-Down Switch - F8
Solenoid Valve Power Supply Relay
Shift Lock Solenoid - N110, if equipped.

NOTE:

The Output DTM can only be carried out with the ignition switched ON and the engine NOT running. The transmission selector lever in "P" or "N" and the car is stationary.

The Output DTM will be interrupted if engine is started or if a speed pulse is detected.

You can hear the Solenoid Valves N88, N89, N90, the Cruise Control Power Supply relay and the Solenoid Valve Power Supply relay click during the output test.

To check Solenoid Valve 4 (N91), you'll need to connect the V.A.G 1598 Test Box to the Transmission Control Module and use an LED tester to check for voltage.

You'll also have to connect the V.A.G 1598 to the A/C control head to check if a signal from Kick-down Switch F8 is being sent from the TCM to the A/C control head.

During Output DTM, the individual components are activated for 30 seconds only. If within the 30 seconds the "ARROW" button is not pushed the VAG 1551 will display the following message:

Function unknown or cannot be
implemented at this time !

Push the "ARROW" button to switch to continue the Output DTM.
