The steering universal joint which connects the steering column shaft to the power steering rack has been changed.

Steering Universal Joint Bolts:

^ Previously, two bolts and nuts fastened steering universal joint together, (see arrows in illustration).

Steering Universal Joint Rivets:

^ These fasteners are replaced by factory rivets (see arrows in illustration).

Caution!
DO NOT remove factory installed rivets.

Service

Remove the brake booster to provide access for removal and installation of the power steering rack.

The assistance of a second technician is necessary in properly aligning the steering rack to the steering universal joint while sliding the rack into position.
