Condition

^ Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is on.

^ Various Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in DTC Memory for EGR system.

^ Normally no driveability complaints exist.


Service

- Carefully inspect black EGR vacuum line where it passes over EGR Valve.

Note:
The black vacuum line may-be routed too close to the mechanical EGR Valve. If so, the vacuum line could eventually rub through causing a vacuum leak which turns on the MIL and stores an EGR malfunction.

- Replace black EGR vacuum line if necessary. Ensure that vacuum line is routed away from EGR Valve.
