Rear Door Window Motor: Service and Repair

Removing
- Remove rear side trim panel.
- Disconnect electrical connector.
- Remove door component carrier.
- Mark position of window regulator motor in slots at mounting points.
- Remove mounting nuts (arrows).





- Remove window regulator motor from mounting studs and turn motor over.





- Remove Torx(R) screws (arrows) from housing cover.
- Remove housing cover carefully.


NOTE: Make sure cable does not jump off cable pulley (arrow).


- Remove cable pulley (arrow) from window regulator motor with care.





- Insert tie-wrap through center of cable pulley to secure cable on pulley.





NOTE: To check window motor operation, connect a fused 3OA external power supply to motor using jumper wires and check rotation direction.


Installing
- Remove tie-wrap from cable pulley.
- Install cable pulley onto splined shaft of window regulator motor.

- Install housing cover onto window regulator motor and tighten Torx(R) screws (arrows) diagonally.





- Turn window regulator motor over and place on mounting studs.
- Finger tighten mounting nuts (arrows).





- Adjust window regulator motor in the slots to position marked during removal, and tighten mounting nuts (arrows).
- Install remaining components in reverse order of removal.
