Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVING

Heated Oxygen Sensor Connector:

- Disconnect both Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) harness connectors.
^ Location: right rear of engine compartment.
- Cut tie wraps.
- Remove HO2S sensor (front exhaust pipe near turbocharger).

INSTALLING

Note:
Install in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Tighten to specifications:
^ Torque to 5O Nm (37 ft lb).
- Reposition tie wraps carefully, avoiding contact between sensor wiring and exhaust pipe.

CAUTION:
The threads of the HO2S sensor MUST be coated with an anti-seize compound. Take care that this compound does NOT enter the slits of the HO2S probe.
