Placing Lock Carrier Into Service Position

LEGEND
1 Bolt, 8 x 45 mm
- 45 Nm (33 ft lb)
2 Bolt, 8 x 45 mm
- 45 Nm (33 ft lb)
3 Bolt, 6 x 20 mm
- 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
4 Bolt, 6 x 20 mm
- 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
5 Hole for special tool VAG 3369, or equivalent.
6 Hole in lock carrier
7 Side panel hole

NOTE: Before the front of the body and the lock carrier can be moved into the service position, the front bumper must be removed, refer to Body and Frame.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect intake air duct between air cleaner and front of body, and remove.
2. Remove right side mounting bolt -2- and screw in VAG 3369.
3. Screw left part of VAG 3369 into hole -5-.
4. Remove mounting bolts -1- and -3-.
5. Remove mounting bolt -4-.
6. Pull lock carrier forward and screw mounting bolt -4- through hole -6- and side panel mounting hole -7-.

INSTALLATION
Installation is the reverse of removal.
