Ribbed Belt, Removing and Installing
D1 Vehicles without A/C, not applicable to USA and Canada.
D2 Vehicles with A/C.
Removing
- Remove poly-ribbed belt guard.
- Mark belt's direction of rotation if belt is to be re-used.
- Preload belt tensioner using 17mm wrench, to remove tension from belt.
- Secure tensioner by installing tool # 3204.
- Remove belt.
Installing
- With tensioner secured with tool # 3204, place poly-ribbed belt over drive sprocket, idler roller and pulley's first, and onto tensioning roller last.
^ If old belt is re-used install in the same direction of rotation as it was previously.
- Preload belt tensioner in order to remove tool # 3204.
- Remove tool # 3204 and release belt tensioner.
- Check for proper belt routing and seating in pulley grooves.
- Install poly-ribbed belt guard.
