Convertible top cover, installingFor easier installation, remove the complete convertible top from the vehicle and secure it to a workbench using clamps (as shown).
• Headliner removed.

• If plastic cover is damaged when convertible top cover is removed, it must be completely replaced: do not leave damaged cover in place on roof frame

Removing and installing convertible top cover -1-
Note: Use adhesive D 001 200 or equivalent for all joints on the convertible tap cover except for the self-adhesive flaps for the cross rails. Allow the specified drying time.
CAUTION: Part numbers are listed here for reference only.
- Place convertible top cover over roof frame and center.
- Apply adhesive over an area approx. 3 cm (1-1/8 in.) wide to outside of rear frame section area -C- (arrows).
- Apply adhesive to underside of rear frame section in areas to be glued.
- Apply adhesive to glueing tabs on convertible top cover in area of rear frame section and to locating pockets.
- Engage pockets on rear frame section on both sides (arrow -A-) ~ Fig 1.
- Fit convertible top cover onto retaining brackets on roof frame (both sides) in area of arrow -D-.
- Center cover on rear frame section.
- Pull fabric flap over rear frame section.
- Starting from center, use a suitable plastic tool to press cover down onto rear frame section without creases.
- Apply adhesive to sides of front header rail from underneath in areas to be glued.
- Apply adhesive across front of convertible top cover and to front locating pockets.
CAUTION: Align seams on convertible top cover centrally with cross rails 1, 2, and 3 (items -5-, -6-, and -7- in illustration) when glueing on the fabric.
- Engage locating pockets on roof frame and glue front of cover onto header rail.
- Pull tensioner cable through sleeve and pocket in convertible top cover and secure tensioning spring with Phillips-head screw ~ Fig. 2.
- Apply adhesive to roof frame and locating pockets at sides (arrows -B-) and to fabric flaps.
- Pivot rear frame section up, engage pockets and glue in place.
- Close convertible top.
- Align corners and clamp cover in place at arrow -D- (if using locking pliers, protect cover from damage).
- Glue cover in area -B-.
- Apply adhesive to locating tab in area of rear frame section and to bonding surfaces on rear frame section.
- Glue locating tab and align cover parallel to rear frame section.
- Apply adhesive to front locating tab and side of roof frame.
- Glue on front locating tab at side.
- Pull backing strips off self-adhesive tape on flaps for cross rails.
- Glue on flaps for cross rails ~ Fig. 3.
- Apply adhesive to inside of rear frame section -9- and rear cross rail -8- in areas where upper and lower window locating tabs are glued on.
- Apply adhesive to upper and lower window locating tabs in areas where they are to be glued.
- Press upper window locating tab onto rear cross rail -8- and glue into place.
- Press lower window locating tab onto rear fame section and glue into place.
CAUTION: Do not place too much tension on locating tabs.
- Install cover flap and rubber strap.
• Cover flap installed in such a way that corner of convertible top cannot move outward ~ Fig. 1
- Apply adhesive to corners of convertible top cover and front corners of roof frame.
- Glue corners of cover onto roof frame.
CAUTION:Apply adhesive to fabric side of convertible top. Rubberized side must be visible.

- Engage pockets on ends of rear frame section (arrow).
- Pull tensioning cable through pocket in convertible top cover and secure tensioning spring to cross rail using Phillips-head Screw.

Note: The seams on the convertible top cover must be centered over the cross rails.
- Pull backing paper off self-adhesive tape on flap for cross rail -2-.
- First glue on flap behind cross rail -3- (arrow -A-).
- Then glue front flap onto cross rail (arrow -B-).
