Hydraulic Pump, Removing and Installing

Hydraulic pump, removing and installing

- Disconnect all harness connectors.




- Remove nut -1- together with plate -2-.
- Loosen nut -7-and lift hydraulic pump -8-together with crash cover -9- and plate -6- out of rear bracket.
- Remove pump out from front bracket toward rear and lift out.
Tightening torque for nuts -1- and -7-: 30 Nm (22 ft lb)
- To remove front bracket -3-, remove bolts -5- together with washers -4- then remove bracket.
Tightening torque for bolts -5-: 24 Nm (18 ft lb).


Removing hydraulic pump from bracket




- Remove Torx� screws -3- from both sides.
Apply locking compound AMV 185 400 A2 to screws when installing
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
- To remove crash cover -2-, remove Torx� screw -1- and screws -4- from both sides and lift off cover.




- Remove socket-head screws (4 x) (arrows).
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
Apply locking compound AMV 185400 A2 to screws when installing
Fourth screw is located behind hydraulic hoses and is not visible
- Remove connecting plate from hydraulic pump.

When installing connecting plate, make sure connecting plate and surface on hydraulic pump are parallel.

CAUTION! The hydraulic system is very sensitive to contaminates. The relevant components must be covered immediately after the hydraulic system is opened to prevent any dirt or debris from entering the system.




- Cover connecting surface for connecting plate with adhesive tape or equivalent.
- Remove hydraulic pump from vehicle.

Note: Spread out paper or other suitable material to catch any drips of hydraulic fluid from the disconnected connecting plate.

CAUTION! The convertible top must not be operated (even by hand) when the hydraulic system is opened.

- Install in reverse order of removal.
