Steering: Adjustments

NOTE:
^ A second mechanic is required for this adjustment.
^ The car should be placed on a lift platform.
^ The front wheels should be clear of the ground.
^ The steering system should be checked by operating it with the engine not running.

1. Carefully tighten adjusting bolt (arrow) from the left-hand wheelhouse while feeling for sticking/jamming resistance at steering wheel (second technician).
2. Turn back adjusting bolt sufficiently to eliminate sticking/jamming resistance at steering wheel.
3. Road test.

NOTE: If the steering does not move back into the straight-ahead position by itself, the adjusting bolt should be turned back out a little more.

4. Road test.
