Hydraulic Steering Components






NOTE: Each time after opening the hydraulic circuit:
^ Bleed the steering system.
^ Check the hydraulic fluid level.
^ Check for leaks. Testing and Inspection
^ Screw-type hose clamps may also be used in place of the crimp-type hose clamps.

1 Power Steering Gear
- With tie rods and steering damper

2 Flexible Hose
- Connect to rotary slide valve housing.

3 Return Hose
- Connect to rotary slide valve.

4 Cap With Dipstick

5 Strainer For Expansion Tank
- To be integrated with the expansion tank as a production related improvement

6 Hex Bolt
- Tighten to: 9 Nm(80 inch lbs.).

7 Expansion Tank
- Refill with hydraulic fluid, Part No. G 002 000, or equivalent
- Capacity: 0.7 liters
- Attach expansion tank to body
- Checking hydraulic fluid level.

8 Grommet

9 Crimp-Type Hose Clamp
- Tighten with commercially available tool KD 464 or equivalent

10 Return Hose
- Oil cooler/expansion tank

11 Crimp-Type Hose Clamps
- Tighten with commercially available tool KD 464 or equivalent

12 Bolt + Washer
- Tighten to: 10 Nm(7 ft. lbs.).

13 Oil Cooler
- For steering hydraulic fluid

14 Cable Strap

15 Crimp-Type Hose Clamp
- Tension with commercially available tool KD 464 or equivalent

16 Suction hose

17 Bolt + Washer
- Tighten to: 8 Nm (71 ft. lbs.).

18 Bracket
- Bolted to cylinder head

19 Crimp-Type Hose Clamp
- Tension with commercially available tool KD 464 or equivalent

20 Union
- Tighten to: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).

21 Seal
- 18 x 24 mm
- Always replace

22 Seal
- 16 x 22 mm
- Always replace

23 Power Steering Pump
- Testing delivery. Testing and Inspection

24 Banjo Bolt
- Tighten to: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).

25 Pressure Line
- Tighten to: 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
- Bolt to flexible hose. counterhold at hex on flexible hose for this step
- Bolted to suction line by bolt + washer (item -26-)

26 Hex Bolt
- Tighten to: 8 Nm (71 ft. lbs.).

27 Retaining Clip

28 Hex Nut
- Tighten to: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

29 Washer

30 Coolant Line
