NOTE:
- Always check and erase DTC Memory, perform basic setting and check -E87- coding after performing repairs.
- Discharging refrigerant system.
- A/C system cooling performance test.
- Refrigerant system pressure test.
- Refrigerant circuit.


1 - Left instrument panel air outlet
2 - Side window defroster vent
3 - Auto Check System 1) with outside temperature display -G106-*
- Outside temperature supplied by -E87- is not displayed on models with automatic transmission unless driving position is engaged

NOTE: If display is incorrect, test measured values of temperature sensor via VAG1551 Scan Tool function 08, read measuring value block,

7 - Instrument panel interior temperature sensor (G56)**
8 - A/C control head -E87-
- Replacing A/C control head illumination bulbs
9 - Side window defroster vent
10 - Right instrument panel air outlet
11 - Fresh air/recirculating flap two way valve -N63-
12 - Evaporator housing drain
13 - Data Link Connector (DLC) for VAG1551/1552 Scan Tool (ST)
- Open rear passenger ashtray in center console and remove cover for DLC to connect VAG1551
14 - Interior temperature sensor fan (V42)
15 - Kickdown switch
- Depending on vehicle speed, the A/C clutch is switched off during full throttle acceleration either by the engine control module or by the transmission control module.
- Checking via VAG1551 function 08; read measuring value block.
16 - Control module for fresh air blower -J126-**
17 - Fresh air blower -V2-**
18 - Fresh air intake duct temperature sensor -G89-**
19 - Air flow flap motor -V71-*
- With back pressure flap motor position sensor (G113)
20 - Vacuum unit for fresh/recirculating air flap
21 - One-way valve for vacuum supply
22 - Vacuum reservoir
23 - Heater/air conditioner assembly (with evaporator)


CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal of heater/air conditioner assembly.



24 - Temperature regulator flap motor -V68-*
- With temperature regulator flap motor position sensor (G92)
25 - Footwell air outlet
26 - Central air flap motor -V70-*
- With central flap motor position sensor -G112-
- With central flap motor position sensor -G112-
27 - Footwell/defroster flap motor -V85-*
- With footwell/defroster flap motor position sensor -G114-
