Steering: Description and Operation

With Servotronic, the degree of power assist for the steering is controlled electronically according to the vehicle speed. If there is a malfunction in the Servotronic system, the power steering system will continue to operate.

A malfunction in the system may be noticed when maneuvering the vehicle (for example, in a parking space), and greater steering force than usual has to be used.

If the steering requires greater effort on one side only (e.g., light when turning right and heavy when turning left), there is a hydraulic malfunction. Replace the steering gear to eliminate the problem.
