Tie Rod: Service and Repair

NOTE:
^ For this procedure, use the tools shown in the following illustrations or their equivalents.
^ For additional information, refer to steering component locations. Locations






1 Tie rod inner mounting
- Bend faces front, refer to Fig. 1 of Installation, below.

2 Tie rod
- Both shafts straight version

3 Tie rod end, right
- Offset is toward front, refer to Fig. 1 of Installation, below.

4 Tie rod end, left.
- Offset toward front, refer to Fig. 1 of Installation, below.

NOTE: When installing the two tie rod ends and/or when adjusting toe, make sure the two heads of the tie rod ends are perpendicular to the pivot pins.
