Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Remove wheel.





2. Remove wiring guide for ABS wheel speed sensor.

NOTE: When installing and tightening the bolts for the wiring guide, do not pinch the ABS wheel speed sensor wire between the guide and the trapezoidal arm.





3. If equipped, disconnect spring for brake pressure regulator





4. Loosen bolt attaching trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing (arrow).





5. Loosen bolt attaching pivot mount to trapezoidal arm (arrow).
6. Loosen bolt attaching trapezoidal arm to crossmember.





7. Loosen bolt attaching support to trapezoidal arm.
8. Disconnect support from body (arrows).
9. Remove bolt attaching support to trapezoidal arm.
10. Remove bolt attaching pivot mount to wheel bearing housing.
11. Remove bolt attaching trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing.
12. Remove bolt attaching trapezoidal arm to crossmember, and remove trapezoidal arm.

INSTALLATION
Installation of trapezoidal arm is reverse of removal, noting the following special instructions:
a. Install new self-locking bolts for trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing, pivot mount to wheel bearing housing, and pivot mount to trapezoidal arm.
b. Tighten as follows:
- Trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing: 170 Nm (125 ft. lbs.).
- Pivot mount to wheel bearing housing: 170 Nm (125 ft. lbs.).
- Pivot mount to trapezoidal arm: 140 Nm (104 ft. lbs.) plus 1/2-turn (180°).
