Column Adjustment Cable

1. Remove steering column and steering column tube.





2. Loosen adjusting nut -1- to release tension on cable.





3. Cut cable with side cutter behind adjusting nut, and remove.





4. Check dimension -A- between adjusting nut -1- and mating piece -B- on new cable; correct if necessary.
- Dimension -A-= 15 mm (0.59 inch)





5. Slide new cable through adjusting mechanism and pinch spring sleeve on end of cable using standard pliers.





6. Install eccentric lever -1- of cable on steering column tube pin and install cable on bracket (arrow).
7. Adjust cable. Adjustments
8. Install steering column with column tube into vehicle.
9. Check fore/aft adjustment again and readjust cable if necessary.
