Component Tests and General Diagnostics
1. Install hose clamps, tool No. 3094, Snap-On Model tool No. YA2850 or equivalent, on suction and pressure hoses.
2. Press spring clamp and disconnect harness connector from fuel injector.
3. Tightly hold hex fitting on flexible pressure hose, and disconnect threaded connection (arrow).
4. Install adapter tool No. US 1074/4C, or equivalent, in the line in place of pressure hose.
5. Install hose of pressure gauge tool No. US 1074, or equivalent on adapter.
6. Close locking valve of gauge (lever to left).
7. Install connector on fuel injector.
8. Remove hose clamps from suction and pressure hoses.
9. Start engine
10. At idle, read pump pressure on gauge.
CAUTION: Measurement must last no longer than 10 seconds
11. Specified value: 120-130 bar (1740-1885 psi)
12. Stop engine (switch ignition off).
NOTE: If specified value is not obtained, replace hydraulic pump.
13. Install hose clamp on suction and pressure hose.
14. Disconnect harness connector from fuel injector.
15. Remove pressure gauge hose from adapter and put gauge aside.
16. Take adapter off pressure line.
17. Connect pressure hose to line by holding pressure hose hex.
18. Install connector on fuel-injector.
19. Remove hose clamps from pressure and suction hoses.
20. Let engine idle for approx. 2 minutes with front wheels pointed straight ahead.
21. Stop engine (switch ignition off) and immediately check power steering fluid level, noting marks on reservoir or dipstick, if necessary top off to MAX mark.
22. Check steering system for leaks.
