Read Measuring Value Block (scan tool function 08)

NOTE:
^ Function 08 features 1 display group with 8 display fields.
^ If the printer is switched on using the "PRINT" button, the scan tool display is also printed.

Requirements
- Basic system test requirements met. Test Requirements
- DTC memory checked; no malfunctions recognized. Checking Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Memory

Procedure





1. Connect VAG1551 scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
2. Switch ignition on or start engine.

3. Press buttons -0- and -3- to insert "Brake Electronics" address word 03.

4. Press -Q- button to confirm input.

5. Press buttons -0- and -8- to select "Read Measuring Value Block" function 08.

6. Press -Q- button to confirm input.

7. Press -0- button three times to input display group number 000.
8. Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Measuring Value Block Specification Table

NOTE:
^ Display fields 1 through 4 indicate wheel speed in km/h. This is calculated by the ABS control module according to input signals from the ABS wheel speed sensors.
^ If the vehicle is accelerated or moved at steady speed on a dry surface, variations in wheel speed (display fields 1-4) of up to ± 1 km/h are permissible. If the difference is greater check the ABS wheel speed sensors and rotors.
^ To check whether the sensors are connected correctly, turn the wheels by hand (block the other wheel of the driven axle to prevent it from also turning). If there are values displayed that indicate a malfunction, troubleshoot using the VAG 1710 ABS tester. Testing With VAG 1710 ABS Tester
