Camber
- Loosen center and front ball joint mounting nuts (arrows).
- Loosen just enough to allow washer to move after loosening rear nut.
- Install special tool 3196 with hole over center mounting nut.
- Tighten spindle so that knurled pin of special tool engages in hole in ball joint and thereby supports itself on ball joint.
- Fasten special tool to ball joint with holding clip.
- Place tube section of retaining bracket on head of center bolt and tighten knurled screw to make contact with bracket.
- Loosen rear nut until washer can just be moved.
- Turn spindle of special tool until camber is within specified range.
NOTE:
^ The front wheels must be standing on movable plates.
^ If the ball joint becomes jammed in the control arm (with no slight camber adjustments possible), use the lever to move the special tool lever vigorously to the left and right several times and free the joint
- Pull special tool lever firmly inward as far as it will go, and push rear lever outward as far as it will go.
- In this position, tighten both outer ball joint mounting nuts (with help from second technician).
- Remove special tool.
- Tighten center nut.
- Tighten all nuts.
- Check front wheel toe and adjust if necessary.
