Ribbed belt drive, troubleshooting

Proceed as follows if ribbed belt drive noise is noted:

- Reproduce cause for complaint in shop.
- Remove ribbed belt and run engine without belt.

If the noise is still present, it is not caused by the ribbed belt.
If the noise is no longer present, determine the cause of the noise according to the table of malfunctions, and repair as necessary.
