Windshield Washer And Headlight Washer System, Servicing:
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram as necessary.
1 - Windshield washer spray jet, heated

- Remove spray jet before removing

Removing
- Loosen mounting bracket.
- Press windshield washer pump slightly forward, and out of retaining clamp.
- Insert flat-blade screwdriver between washer fluid reservoir and pump.
- Twist screwdriver in direction shown (arrow) and pull pump assembly from rubber bushing in reservoir.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.

Removing
- Loosen mounting bracket, and press headlight washer pump slightly forward, out of retaining clamp.
- Insert flat-blade screwdriver between washer fluid reservoir and pump.
- Twist screwdriver in direction shown (arrow) and pull pump assembly from rubber bushing in reservoir.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Adjust jets using special tool 3019A or equivalent so that spray pattern meets upper edge of headlight:
- A = 60 mm (approx. 2-3/8 in.)
- B = 80 mm (approx. 3-5/32 in.)

CAUTION!
DO NOT adjust the spray jets using a needle, pin or similar
object, as damage to the spray jet will result
NOTE: Adjustment procedure applies both to heated and to unheated
spray jets.
- Adjust jets using special tool VW3125 or equivalent:
- a = 200 mm (approx. 7-7/8 in.)
- b = 450 mm (approx. 17-3/4 in.)
- C = 220 mm (approx. 8-5/8 in.)
- d = 480 mm (approx. 18-7/8 in.)
- Tolerance = + 20 mm (approx. 3/4 in.)
- Replace spray jet if:
- Specified adjustment cannot be attained
- Spray stream does not come out uniformly
- Jet has become damaged
