Bosch 5.0 - ABS/EDL


Has an ASR control module just been replaced or is the DTC stored in DTC memory of the control module?
- "ABS/EDL transmission electrical connection"

If so, control module must be coded according to engine and transmission type.

Note:
- Coding is only possible if a workshop number is stored in the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST).
Refer to Operating instructions for VAG1551
- The ABS/EDL/ASR control module with index "N"was implemented in 05.95 along with implementation of the automatic transmission 01 V for vehicles equipped with ASR. The coding versions of this control module were expanded to include automatic transmission 01V.
- Control modules with index "N" can replace previous control modules with index "M" as necessary.
- For vehicles prior to 05.95, control modules with index "M" will no longer be available after current supplies are exhausted.

- Connect the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) and select "Brake Electronics" via address word 03.
- Check the control module version and press the (arrow) button.

Notes:
- During control module identification, a 3 or 5-digit code must always be indicated.
- If control module does not indicate coding corresponding to vehicle, or if control module has been replaced, code it as follows.

- Press buttons -O- and -7- to select "Code control module" function 03.





Indicated on display:
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.





Indicated on display:
- Enter the appropriate code number and press -Q- button to confirm input.

Display will indicate the control module identification and the coding entered (e.g. 00000).
