Lock Carrier With Attachments, Removing And Installing
1 - Lock carrier
Removing:
- Remove bumper.
- Remove noise insulation panel.
- Disengage hood lock cable.
- Remove intake air duct between lock carrier and air cleaner housing at lock carrier.
- Remove bolts from lock carrier.
- Disconnect harness connectors.
- Drain coolant and disconnect coolant hoses Fig. 2.
- Detach condenser from lock carrier (do not disconnect lines) and secure with wire (i.e. at front wheel).
NOTES:
- The condenser must not be suspended by its lines.
- Condenser lines must not be bent or kinked.
- Detach hydraulic fluid cooler Fig. 1. (do not disconnect lines).
NOTES:
- The hydraulic fluid cooler must not be suspended by its lines.
- Hydraulic cooler lines must not be bent or kinked.
- Disconnect lines from ATF cooler (if equipped).
- Remove charge air cooler (if equipped).
- Loosen seal for hood at left and right at fender to lock carrier.
- Remove bolts - 2 -, - 3 - , - 4 - and - 5 -(second technician required to support lock carrier - 1 -).
Installing:
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Adjust headlights.
Adjusting:
- Center lock carrier - 1 - between fenders.
- If fenders and hood are also being replaced, center them in relation to one another before adjusting lock carrier.
2 - Bolt
- 10 Nm(7 ft lb)
3 - Bolt w/washer assembly
- 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
4 - Bolt w/washer assembly
- 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
5 - Bolt w/washer assembly
- 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
- For service position remove bolt and install 3369 support tool

- Remove retainers for cooling line (for power steering) from engine support and transmission.

- Drain coolant from radiator.
- Pull out retainer for coolant line connecting flange at bottom of radiator and remove connecting flange.

- On vehicles with charge air cooler, loosen bolt on hose clamp (arrow).
- Remove hose.
