Condition

Sun visor wiring harness pinched or chafed by mounting screws.

Note:
Open condition at fuse S14 can affect: power window, dome light, alarm system and seat memory operation.

Production

Sun visor wire harness routing optimized as of Feb. 1998, beginning VIN 4B_WN102327.

Service





- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool.

- Check for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).

- Remove sun visor, inspect wire harness for signs of chafing and damage.

- Repair wire harness using VAS 1978 wiring harness repair kit.

- Reinstall sun visor (re-route wire harness away from mounting fasteners).

- Install new fuse.

- Clear any stored DTC's using VAG 1551 Scan Tool.
