Toe Constant "S"
Toe constant "S", adjusting
^ Loosen bolt -A-.
^ Unscrew bolt (B) about 4 mm.
^ Press down tie rod joint until it stops.
^ Screw in adjustment bolt (B) until expected value is exactly reached.
^ Tighten hex nut -A- to 50 Nm and check value.
Always use new hex bolts.
^ Tighten bolt -3- to 7 Nm.
^ Lower vehicle back into initial position.
^ Turn down threaded spindle.
This does not apply to vehicles with a sport suspension!
Vehicles with a standard suspension should be bounced several times.
Check toe constant after it is adjusted
^ Now the wheel alignment analyzer will check the toe constant once more.
^ If the measured values are within the tolerance of the control value the second time they are checked, the adjustment is OK.
^ If the measured values are outside the control value it is necessary to adjust them once more in position B2 (+60 mm).
Note: For wheel bearing housings without a groove and tie rod ends with a ring, the upward adjustment travel is about 2 mm less. If the adjustment travel is not sufficient, then the ring on the tie rod end should be removed.
