Information Bus: Service and Repair
Adaptation
Individual functions are called up by entering the appropriate adaptation channel numbers (listed in the adaptation table).
NOTE:
- Using measuring value blocks 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16, the values that need to be transferred to the new instrument cluster can be read out before replacement.
- Adaptation channels 42, 43, and 44 (see measuring value blocks) must be adapted according to the oil quality (see measuring value block).
- Adaptation channels 60, 61, and 62 are only needed when the instrument cluster communicates with the corresponding BUS system.
- Measuring value blocks 125 and 126 indicate the components that are pad of the powertrain data-BUS.
- Measuring value block 130 indicates the components that are part of the comfort system data-BUS.
- Measuring value block 140 indicates the components that are part of the information data-BUS.

Table:
Equipment Adaptation value
Engine 1
Transmission 2
Brake 4
A/C 8
ADR 32
Instrument cluster 1024
Installed control modules that participate in the information system data-BUS (measuring value block) are added.
NOTE: The instrument cluster, which supports CAN, is not indicated in the measuring value block, but must be added anyway.
Example: Manual transmission
- Engine + A/C + instrument cluster = 1 + 8 + 1024 = 1033
Example: Automatic transmission
- Engine + transmission + A/C + instrument cluster = 1 + 2 + 8 + 1024 = 1035
