Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub Unit Removing And Installing

Special Tools and Equipment





- 80-200 pry lever for removing outside mirror

Removing
- Vehicle is standing on its wheels over a car lift
- Remove hubcap, for light-alloy wheels pull off center cap from disc wheel.
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove wheels.





- Unscrew attachment bolts (arrows) from brake caliper housing.
- Remove brake pads
- Hang brake caliper on body.
- Remove brake disc.
- Remove bracket for wheel speed sensor





- Pull out ABS wheel speed sensor.





- Unscrew bolts for wheel bearing/wheel hub unit.
- Remove wheel bearing/wheel hub unit with backing plate for brake disc.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Contact surface for wheel bearing/wheel hub and threaded holes must be free of paint and dirt.
- Tighten wheel hub unit and backing plate to rear axle to 60 Nm.
- Install new ABS wheel speed sensor





- Insert ABS wheel speed sensor -1- until it stops.
- Locating lug (A) faces toward front on left side of vehicle and rear on right side.
- Mount bracket for wheel speed sensor.
- Mount brake disc with pads, and tighten brake caliper to 35 Nm.
- Wheel bolt tightening torque: 120 Nm
