Accident with airbag deployment

Must always be replaced:
- All deployed airbags with control module.

In addition for passenger airbag deployment:

- Sensor for transverse installation if floor pan deformed in area of sensor.

In addition for driver airbag deployment:
- Return ring with spiral spring.
- Sensor for transverse acceleration, if floor pan is deformed in area of sensor.

In addition for side airbag deployment:
- Sensor for cross acceleration on deployed side.
- Seatback cushion.
- Seatback cover.
- Sensor not deployed for transverse acceleration if floor pan deformed in area of sensor.

Additional:
- All seat belts with deployed belt tensioner

Deployed belt tensioner can be recognized by Airbag V and 7 with On Board Diagnostic (OBD).

A - for deployed airbag control module:

Belt tensioner, front:

- Read measuring value block display group 001:
Released belt tensioner recognized on display "0111" or "too large"

Rear belt tensioner:

- Read measuring value block display group 2:
Released belt tensioner recognized on display "0111" or "too large"

B - with replaced Airbag-control module:
- Check DTC memory:
Released belt tensioner recognized with malfunction notification "Igniter for belt tensioner - resistance too great"
- As required (visual check), the following may also need to be replaced: all damaged components.

Accident without airbag deployment
- If the Airbag Warning Lamp -K75- does not indicate a malfunction, it is not necessary to replace the airbag/belt-tensioner components.

After replacing the airbag units or the control unit, affix stickers (only tear-off strips) to the registration card and return the registration card to the relevant Sales Center or to the Importer for registration.
