Pedal assembly, removing and installing
Remove mounting bracket:





- Pry off gap cover below steering column, see arrows.





- Unscrew cover, see arrows.
- Remove lower insulation mat.





- Disengage cable -3- from accelerator pedal.
- Unclip connector -4- for cruise control from clutch and brake pedals.
- Disconnect vacuum hose -2- for cruise control from clutch and brake pedals.
- Unclip connector -1- from brake light switch.
- Loosen hose clamp of cable harness connection.
- Disengage return spring -5- at brake pedal.
- Disengage pressure rod -6- for master brake cylinder.

Note: For the sake of illustration, removal is shown with pedal bracket removed.





- Remove circlip -2- for brake pedal.





- Unthread circlip -3- from clutch master cylinder and remove pin.
- Remove hex bolts -1-.
- Remove mounting bracket in direction of arrow, remove brake pedal -4- from shaft simultaneously.
- Unclip accelerator pedal -5-.

Remove pedal bracket:
- To remove pedal bracket, mounting bracket must be removed first.
- Attach bleeder hose of bleeder bottle to left-front brake caliper bleeder screw and open bleeder screw.
- Operate brake pedal to pump out as much brake fluid as possible.
- Close front left bleeder screw.





- Remove mounting bolt -3- for brake fluid reservoir.





- Disconnect harness connector for brake fluid level warning switch -2-.
- Disconnect return hose -1- for clutch master cylinder (if equipped).

Note:
^ Protect plenum chamber from escaping brake fluid.
^ The brake fluid reservoir is engaged in master brake cylinder at lower side.

- To remove reservoir, press engagement strap downward and simultaneously pull brake fluid reservoir out of gasket.
- Remove brake fluid reservoir.





- Disconnect brake lines -3- and seal with plugs.
- Remove vacuum hose -2-.
- Remove mounting bolts for brake booster -1- (Torx T45).
- Remove brake booster with master brake cylinder.





- Press accelerator cable out of pedal bracket from inside.
- Remove mounting nuts (arrows) for pedal bracket.





- Disconnect clutch line (arrow).

Note: Line is located at a bracket near the steering gear.





- Unscrew clutch line -1- at master cylinder.
- Unclip accelerator pedal -2-.
- Remove mounting bolt -3-.





- To remove accelerator pedal, press out accelerator pedal while pressing pins in direction of arrow.
- Remove insulation mat

Note:
^ Pedal bracket is inserted in chassis with butyl tape, always replace after removal

^ Disconnect pedal bracket from chassis by hitting lightly with a rubber hammer.

When installing, pay particular attention to the following points:
- Attach and secure pedal bracket immediately after butyl tape has been positioned.
- Bleed brake system.
