Oil Pump Drive Seal






NOTE:
^ During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.
^ Seals and gaskets should always be replaced.
^ All of the components shown on the illustration can be removed and installed with the engine installed.

Component Notes And Information

1 Oil Seal, Oil Pump Drive
2 Oil Seal, Crankshaft
3 Oil Pump Drive
4 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nm (89 inch lb)
5 Bolt, tighten to: 80 Nrn (59 ft lb)
6 Bolt, tighten to: 35 Nrn (26 ft lb)
7 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nrn (89 in. lb)
8 Circlips
9 Plug, tighten to: 5 Nm (26 ft lb)
10 Oil Retention Valves
- Replacing, refer to Replacement. Service and Repair

Removal
1. Remove noise insulation panel.
2. Removing camshaft timing belt.
3. Remove vibration damper.





4. Remove oil pump drive.





5. Remove oil pump seal using commercially available extractor (e.g. Kukko tool No. 21/6, 37-46 mm, or equivalent) as follows:
a. Insert extractor into oil seal and tighten by hand.
b. Carefully remove seal with puller (Kukko 22-2 shown).

Installation





Install oil seal using insertion sleeve tool No. 2009, or equivalent.
Before assembling, make sure oil pump drive bearing runs quietly.
- If not, replace oil pump drive.
