Instrument Cluster, Procedure to Change Code
Instrument Cluster, Procedure to Change Code
NOTE: To assure that a later identification of the immobilizer protection is assured, the change of the control module must be carded out as follows and the following steps must be taken.
1. Locking code with 2-part label
NOTE: The label on the key tag of the new lock set is used to identify the mechanical lock combination.
- Remove right label -2- (with bar code) remove from key tag of the new key set and destroy.
- Take the remaining left label -1- (without bar code) from the new key tag and replace the previous left label on the customer's key tag
2. Control module for the immobilizer unit is integrated into the instrument cluster
Replacement parts no longer receive a search code, the private number can only be identified by the 14 digit of the immobilizer device:
- Readable via OBD. Refer to "Immobilizer - Immobilizer III, On Board Diagnostic/Check control module versions" under "Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems", [1][2]Component Tests and General Diagnostics
- Via direct query per system (similar to direct query of radio code)
- Via responsible distributor or importer
NOTE: The new secret number is for internal use only and not to be given to the customer.
