Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (function 03)


NOTE:
- The output DTM can only be carried out when the selector lever is in "P" position, the engine is running, and the vehicle is standing still.
- The output DTM is discontinued when the engine is started.
- The function of the solenoid valves 1 -N88-, 2 -N89- and 3 -N90- and the shift lock solenoid -N110- are checked audibly during the output DTM. During the audible check the surrounding noises should be limited, since the clicking noises are very quiet.
- Pressure control valves 7 -N215-, 2 -N216-, 3 -N217-, 4 -N218- and pressure regulating valve 5 -N233- are triggered by the output DTM, A direct functional check of these components is not possible. However, electrical malfunctions, which occur during this triggering, are eventually stored in the DTC memory through the OBD program.
- During the output DTM the individual controls are triggered until the -> button is pressed.
- Only a complete final control diagnosis is possible after the ignition is switched on. To repeat, the ignition must be switched off and switched on again.

1. Solenoid valve 1 -N88-
2. Solenoid valve 2 -N89-
3. Solenoid valve 3 -N90-
4. Shift lock solenoid -N10-
5. Pressure control valve 1 -N215-
6. Pressure control valve 2 -N216-
7. Pressure control valve 3 -N217-
8. Pressure control valve 4 -N218-
9. Pressure regulating valve 5 -N233-
10. Relay for solenoid valves

- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool, insert "Transmission Electronics" address word 02, and advance through program sequence to "Select function" mode. Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

Solenoid Valve 1 -N88


If the solenoid valve is triggered (clicks):
- Press -> button to switch to next control.

If the valve is not triggered (does not click):
- Carry out electrical testing. Electrical Testing

If the solenoid valve is triggered (clicks):
- Press -> button to switch to next control.

If the valve is not triggered (does not click) :

If the solenoid is triggered (clicks):
- Press -> button to switch to next control.

If the solenoid is not triggered (does not click):
- Carry out electrical testing. Electrical Testing

Indicated on display. The valve is triggered.


Output Diagnostic Test Mode ->
Pressure Control Valve 1 -N215


- Press -> button to switch to next control.


NOTE: Possible electrical malfunctions are stored in DTC memory. Testing and Inspection


Indicated on display. The valve is triggered.

Pressure Control Valve 2 -N216


- Press -> button to switch to next control.

- Press -> button to switch to next control.

To repeat the output DTM, the ignition must be switched off and then on again. Then, the "Output Diagnostic Test Mode" function 03 must be selected again.
