Fuel Pump Delivery Rate, Checking

WARNING!
Fire hazard DO NOT smoke or work near heaters or have anything in the area that can ignite fuel!


Test requirements
- Fuse 1 in fuse holder -4- (right side A- pillar) OK.
- Fuel pump relay (passenger side footwell, position 6) OK
- Fuel filter in good condition
- At least 12 volts at fuel pump (when pump is running)

Checking
- Connect remote control Fuel Pump Checking
- Remove return line at fuel pressure regulator.







- Attach auxiliary hose, Part No. 8A0 201 351, to fuel pressure regulator and hold opposite end in measuring beaker.
- Actuate remote control to operate fuel pump continuously for 15 seconds.
- Compare fuel delivery rate to specified values in table.

Fuel delivery rate specifications

Voltage at fuel pump Rate
12 volts 460 cc (ml) in 15 sec
13 volts 540 cc (ml) in 15 sec.


NOTE: After each test, approx. 3 liters (3/4 gal.) of fuel must be added to the fuel tank through the fuel filler.
