0.35 MM2 Diameter Wiring Connection, Repairing

NOTE:
- The VAS1978 wiring harness repair kit contains three different repair wiring diameters (0.5 mm2, 1.5 mm2, 4.0 mm2) and the appropriate crimp connectors.
- To repair a 0.35 mm2 diameter wire you must use a 0.5 mm2 diameter repair wire.
- Repair as follows:

- Using stripping pliers, strip wiring ends of 0.35 mm2 diameter wire approx. 12-14 mm (about 1/2 in.).
- Fold over half of stripped wire ends.
- Strip wire ends of 0.5 mm2 wire approx. 6-7 mm (1/4 in.).

- Slip crimp connector over wire ends and crimp on both sides with crimping pliers.

Do not crimp the wire insulation together with the wire ends.

Be sure to use the correct red crimp indentation for 0.5 mm2 wire.

- After crimping, use hot air gun to shrink crimp connector. Heat crimp connector starting from the center to the outside until the connector is completely sealed and the adhesive is oozing out.

Adjust the heat gun to the applicable temperature.

When heating, be sure not to heat or touch other wiring, plastic parts, or dampening material with the heat gun nozzle.
- If the repair area was wrapped before, wrap the repaired wiring with yellow electrical tape. If necessary secure the wiring with tie wraps.
