Installing

Notes:

^ The threads (for the bolts for the drive shaft) rear final drive absolutely must be cleaned of residues of the locking compound after removal of the drive shaft. Otherwise, there is the possibility that the new bolts will seize when installed and tear out during subsequent disassembly.
^ Cleaning can be done with a thread cleaner.
^ Replace the gaskets on the flanges (pull off the protective film and glue onto flange on final drive).
^ Always replace the self-locking drive shaft bolts.
^ In order to prevent imbalance, the flanges must be installed so that the paint markings are properly aligned (all in one line). Installing drive shaft.
^ Always replace self-locking nuts.

The rear final drive is installed in reverse order of removal. In addition, the following work steps have to be carried out:

^ Lift final drive enough so that drive axles can be flanged.
^ Tighten mounting bolts for drive axles slightly.
^ Lift final drive and bolt to crossmember and support.
^ Install exhaust system tension-free.
^ Check fluid level in rear final drive .
