Test requirement

- Engine coolant temperature at least 85 °C (185 °F)

Checking
- Connect VAG1551 or VAG1552 Scan Tool (ST), and press buttons -0- and -1- to insert "Engine Electronics" address word 01 (engine running at idle). [1][2]Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks

If display is not as specified:
- Press -4- button on VAG1551 scan tool to select "Basic Setting" function 04.
- Check specified values for air control valve for fuel injectors (air-shrouded fuel injectors), display fields 2 and 4:







If display is not as specified:
- Check air lines for blockage.
- Check air control valve for fuel injectors. Refer to "Air Control Valve For Fuel Injectors, Electrical Testing" Testing and Inspection
- Press -> button to advance program sequence.
- Press buttons -0- and -6- to select "End Output" function 06, and press -Q- button to confirm input.
