Electrical Test Table

Electrical test table

Notes: The socket designations of the VAG 1598 test box are identical to the terminal designations of the ABS control module -J104- in the wiring diagram. "Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component Locations" binder

CAUTION: Incorrect test procedures can cause damage to the system. Do not make connections between any terminals other than those listed in the table.

- The specified values refer to the readings obtained on the US 1119 multimeter (Fluke(R) 83 or equivalent) and are not necessarily applicable for other test units.
- If the measured values do not match the specifications, refer to corrective actions in the right side of the table.Refer to: Diagrams/Diagnostic Aids.
- If the measured values match the specifications, also check wiring for intermittent loose terminals and short circuit to B+ and Ground (GND). This applies especially to sporadic malfunctions.
- Use only the VAG 1594 connector kit for checking continuity (bridging leads).
- If the measured values only differ slightly from the specifications, clean the sockets and harness connectors of the testers and adapter leads (with contact spray G 000 700 04) and repeat the check. Before replacing components, check the wiring and connections again, particularly if the specification calls for a resistance reading of less than IOU.

CAUTION: Part numbers are listed here for reference only. Always check with your Parts department for the latest information.
