ABS/EDL and ABS/EDL/ASR (Bosch 5.3), m.y. 1998 >
The Bosch 5.3 ABS system with optional features for front wheel-drive vehicles is being introduced on the Audi A4 for the 1998 model year. The new version supersedes the Bosch 5.0 ABS system.
The Bosch 5.3 ABS system has a more compact design. The hydraulic pump -V39-, the hydraulic unit -N55- and the ABS control unit -J104- are combined to form the hydraulic control unit.
