Battery, Mis-diagnosis When DIN Specification is Not Entered When Using the MCR 340A Test Kit

Condition

Batteries mistakenly identified as defective/replace by Midtronics Tester MCR340A due to incorrect specification used.

May be caused by incorrectly inputting the EN/SAE specification instead of using the DIN specification required.

Service

Original equipment battery When checking original equipment or replacement batteries using the Midtronics MCR340A test kit:

ALWAYS use the DIN specification from the battery.





^ Example 380A (arrow), your battery DIN may differ.

DO NOT use the EN/SAE specification. Using any other specification may result in mis-diagnosis of the battery.

Replacement battery





^ Example 450A (arrow), your battery DIN may differ.

DO NOT use the SAE specification. Using any other specification may result in mis-diagnosis of the battery.

Warranty

^ Mis-diagnosis of the battery may result in Warranty claim denial.

^ Warranty Policy requires a "Test Code" for all battery warranty claims (see Warranty Service Circular AWA-02-10).

To generate a "Test Code" for the battery:





- Press the "i CODE" button (arrow) on the Tester after completion of the battery test and follow the prompts on the Tester.

- Attach the Printout of the test results to the Repair Order as described in Warranty Service Circular AWA-02-10.
