Headlamp Igniter Module: Service and Repair




Igniter For Gas Discharge Lamps -N195-, Removing and Installing


WARNING!

High voltage!

Make sure to disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before performing work on parts of gas discharge (xenon) headlight marked with yellow high voltage symbols.



NOTE:
- Obtain radio code before disconnecting battery.
- Be sure to activate vehicle features (radio, clock, electric window regulator, engine) when the battery is re-connected.


Removing







- Remove both bolts -1- at air intake channel and then pull up at rear part of intake channel -2- (only for right headlight).
- Remove housing cover from headlight housing.







- Disconnect connector -1- at gas discharge headlight by turning counterclockwise.







- Remove guide -1- in housing cover by pressing locking lugs (arrow).
- Harness connector of gas discharge headlights can then be guided through the cover.







- Disconnect connector -1- from harness connector of igniter for gas discharge lamps.
- Remove retaining plate -2- for igniter for gas discharge lamps by loosening screw (arrow).
- Remove igniter for gas discharge lamps from headlight housing.

Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal.
