Refrigerant Lines For Condenser

Refrigerant Lines For Condenser, Removing And Installing

NOTE:
- The connection of the refrigerant lines differs, depending on engine type.
- The construction of the condenser differs, depending on model year and engine type.

Disconnecting
- Remove noise insulation:
- Remove complete front bumper:
- Discharge A/C refrigerant system:

Removing refrigerant lines on version "1" (two connectors)

- Loosen connectors on refrigerant lines -A- and -B- (tightening torque -A- 30 Nm and refrigerant lines -B- 15 Nm)
- Remove refrigerant line -A- and -B-.

NOTE:
- Replace both O-Ring-seals -C- (14.0 mm x 1.8 mm) and -D- (10.8 mm x 1.8 mm).
- Close all open lines and connections on condenser with suitable caps (avoid dirt and moisture from entering the system).

Removing refrigerant lines on version "2" (two block connections on left side)

- Remove bolts -A- (tightening torque 20 Nm).
- Remove refrigerant line from condenser.

NOTE:
- Replace both O-Ring-seals -C- (14.0 mm x 1.8 mm) and -D- (10.8 mm x 1.8 mm).
- Close all open lines and connections on condenser with suitable caps (avoid did and moisture from entering the system).

Removing refrigerant lines on version "3" (one block connection on left side and one on right side)

- Remove bolts -A- (tightening torque 20 Nm).
- Remove refrigerant line from condenser.

NOTE:
- Replace both O-Ring-seals -C- (14.0 mm x 1.8 mm) and -D- (11.1 mm x 1.8 mm).
- Close all open lines and connections on condenser with suitable caps (avoid dirt and moisture from entering the system).

Connecting
Installation is the reverse order of removal, observe notes and tightening torque for respective version (see removing notes)

- Replace O-ring-seals.

NOTE:
- When tightening bolts/nuts (on refrigerant lines) on condenser; counterhold condenser to prevent connection from twisting.
- Install refrigerant lines free of stress and make sure there is enough clearance to other components.

- Check positions of refrigerant lines -A-, they must be fully engaged in bracket -B- and cannot come in contact with other components (different versions)
- Install all removed components again.
- Evacuate and recharge refrigerant circuit.
