Condition
To activate their new cellular telephone, the customer will need the Electronic Serial Number (ESN) and the Mechanical Serial Number (MSN) from the telephone transceiver (included in the installation kit).
^ For Customer reference, these numbers must be recorded in the User Guide.
^ For Dealer reference, these numbers must be recorded on the Technicians Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) checklist.
Service
During telephone installation and prior to installing the telephone transceiver. Obtain the (ESN) -black arrow- and the (MSN) -white arrow-, from the label located on the transceiver (see applicable Technical Bulletin regarding installation).
- Record these numbers in the User Guide (User Guide is supplied in the telephone installation kit.
- Place the User Guide with the owner's manual.
- Inform the Customer as to where these numbers are located in the User Guide.
- Record the ESN and MSN on the front page near the top of the Technician PDI Checklist which is supplied in the New Car Kit (see note below).
Note:
At the next update, the Technician PDI checklist will include a place to record the ESN and MSN.
